Summertime, and the livin' is easy
I hope you get a chance to do what we did yesterday:
Combine 1 cup water and 1.5 cups sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil just until the sugar dissolves; remove from heat and set aside to cool.
Squeeze enough lemons to make 3 cups juice (10 large ones). Mix with 5 cups water and the sugar syrup. Pour off about 1.5 cups of the mixture into an ice cube tray. Put the rest in a 2-quart pitcher in the fridge.
When the mixture is good and cold, and the weather is good and hot, fill some tall glasses (don't forget the ice). Garnish with sprigs of mint.
Be prepared to do the whole thing over again tomorrow, because your homemade lemonade is not going to last through the day.

Yummm...and it's so much better than "Country Time". In fact, I read somewhere that Lemon Plege has more real lemon juice in it than Country Time does!

I love anything that has to do with lemons. It's such a refreshing taste.
I came here by way of Rhodent's blog. I'm an avid reader and when saw "bookworm" I knew I had to get here. I am for sure adding you to my list of blogs!
Very nice site!

hooray, a recipe for lemonade, it's not something we do here...but I love it. The thing that I don't understand tho is that lemons ripen in the winter, so how did it get to be such a summer drink?? ONe of those mysteries.

Hi Julie. I found your blog from Adrienne's blog - you've got great thoughts!
I've decided to grow my hair as long as your son’s which is the subject of my latest post. Let him know that misunderstandings have no boundaries; I've also had quite a few negative comments at my age. No problem, I just smile and say "thank you " - it disarms them.
I saw my principal for the first time since I’ve had it in a pony tail last week and I was terrified at what he would say. He immediately told me how he had long hair in college and wished he let it grow longer. Whew!
I've linked to you and will be a regular reader.
